Situated very near San Vicente, in the province of Manabi, the beach of Canoa is a spectacular destination for surfing. In Crucita, another lovely beach in the region, visitors can see the coast line from a paraglider or a hang-glider. Salinas, on the Santa Elena Peninsula, 144 km. from Guayaquil, is the ideal place for jet-skiing, surfboarding, diving and deep-sea fishing. Other nearby places which also offer sports options are Punta Blanca and Punta Carnero. In Montañita waves of up to three metres high allow visitors to surf as well. Manglaralto also has facilities for sports and fishing.
